Thank you for purchasing the EVL-micro controller.
Please read this user manual carefully.
Based on the top selling 'Mad 4-1' & 'e-pod' controllers,
the EVL microcontroller takes preprogrammed DMX controllers
another step forward..
This user friendly unit gives easy control over DMX effects via 4 strong
foot swithces that can also be pressed by hand. The EVL micro
controller features the stunning 'ASL' (Adaptive Sound to Light)*
software as used in the EVL -SPIN moonflower effect.
micro-controller comes ready to use and preprogrammed with an
almost limitless sequence of sound activated chases, slow scrolling
chases, over-rideable super strobe effects and static colours.
micro-controller is designed for easy use and enables the user rapid
control over most of the EVL product range.
Connections from the unit are simple, effects are connected by
standard DMX cable from the XLR out socket on the controller.
Fixtures are then daisy chained together.
A power unit is supplied with the controller. It is a 9V DC/500mA
type with negative centre pin (2.1 mm DC plug).
Audio input for the beat response is through the units built in
mic. Sound levels are automatically set.
THE BUTTONS (please also refer to mini-color section)
Button 1: BLACKOUT / GOBO-COL select
First press of the button is always Blackout. Each successive
press selects the next Gobo-Colour. Scanner mirrors and
Moving Heads will point forward in a midway position.
Button 2: STROBE
Pressing once will activate a fast strobe effect in the current
Gobo-Colour as pre selected by button 1 to all linked heads.
Pressing the button again will activate a WHITE strobe effect
to all linked effects, and also activates a 'Pro Strobe' if
connected.
Please note that the first initial press of this button enables
the time sequenced strobe patterns within the sound to light
preprogrammes.......
IF STROBE EFFECTS ARE NOT REQUIRED DO NOT PRESS.
Button 3: SOUND to LIGHT
Press to activate the 'ASL' (Adaptive Sound to Light)*
programmes via the built in mic. These programmes are
designed so that Scanners, Stars, Spins and Moving Heads
can be used in pairs or multiple pairs to give an odd/even
sequence set up.
Each additional press of this button will manually advance
the current step within the auto programmes. Holding down
this button for 2 seconds will activate independent 'local'
mode to all connected heads that have local sound to light
compatibility.
Heads without on-board local mode will continue to be
activated from e-pods sound to light programmes and also
e-pods smooth mode. This allows a combination of heads
operating in their own local mode and heads being controlled
by e-pods smooth mode.
Pressing the Sound to Light button again will reactivate the
e-pod's preprogrammes to all the linked heads.
Button 4: SMOOTH MODE
